I’m in class right now and will be taking notes on here. Take count of how many times I lose attention.

Identification that causes fear followed by fictionalization that causes relief = horror. Lovecraft adds the supernatural/strange/unknown. When Berke talks about sublime, it talks about travel phenomenon.

I’m bored. Book with fat face on cover. Causes furor.

Weird fiction: Subgenre of speculative fiction. Predates what is considered classic genres of horror and fantasy. Super-natural, mythical, scientific blended together. Fiction of cosmic fear — contrast between that and other horror literature. Talks about mere physical fear. Such writing has its place, but these things are not the place of cosmic fear.
